Decisions Power the Organizing Experience
Focus and stamina are second in command of the operation!
Decisions are the power that runs the organizing experience. There it is. Organizing in a nutshell. Why do you have stacks and piles everywhere? They represent unmade decisions. Yes, it’s that simple and that powerful. If you want to own your space and run your life, start making decisions. If you don’t, things will pile up and there is always the chance others will be eager to make them for you. Should you wish to play the blame game, carry on! Should you wish to be the architect of your life, start making decisions.
Have you ever seen an American Western with the hero frantically shoveling coal into the train engine so they can keep going down the track and escape the bad guys? That’s you! Only instead of goal into an engine you need to shovel powerhouse items into your body like nutrient dense food, pure water to stay hydrated and have clean snacks on hand. A Snickers bar or the candy bar labeled ‘health food’ are not going to cut it. There are other things you can do and Heaven knows I harp on them all the time so check out past blogs posts for more information. The bottom line is not to be a victim but a participant.
I just posted on Notes today that I had read something that shocked me. Most people don’t want to eat more vegetable/plants because of taste! I get it because when I eat out I am frequently astonished at the dead thing that arrives on my plate with a label like spinach or broccoli. It will be overcooked, tasteless and certainly devoid of any energy. I marvel that this item is in any way related to the vibrant food I eat at home with the same label!
Here’s what I suggest. Incorporate the Meatless Monday tradition into your family. Go to Instagram and punch in ‘vegan recipes’ in the search bar. You will not only get ideas but you can watch videos to see if the preparation is beyond your ability or interest level. Martha Stewart wasn’t her adult self the first time she assisted her mother in the kitchen. Enjoy the learning process! Vegan or plant based eating will save you money, the environment, maybe a few sentient beings and it will help you be healthier. I can’t think of a single downside to this adventure.
To get you started, here’s a link to one of my favorite recipes on Instagram. It’s high in tasty ingredients, protein and easy to assemble. Let me know if you try it. I loved it! Easy, high protein salad. At my local Trader Joe’s chickpeas are less than $1.50 a can and you can save the liquid for baking. What?! That’s right! here’s a recipe to get you on the Aqua Faba band wagon.
Now I ask you … what other organizer provides you with tasty recipes that power up any organizing task on your punch list? If you enjoy following me and profit from the experience, please invite your friends to become subscribers. I’ll see you later this week with a third peek at the Journey! In the meantime let me know how you put all the energy, focus and stamina you got from nutrient dense eating to use.
